“Natural” is one of the least regulated words in the whole aisle. It can appear on a label without meaning much at all — so it's a starting point, not a guarantee.
Read the list, not the front
The front of a box is marketing. The ingredient list is the contract. If every ingredient is named and you can look each one up, that tells you far more than any adjective on the front.
Short and named beats vague and long
A four-line list you can read top to bottom is easier to trust than a long one padded with things you can't pronounce. Transparency is the signal worth looking for.
